Update by Lauren, posted on February 3rd, 2006: I am partial to erotic photography sites and Petter Hegre is among the best nude artists that you'll find on the Internet. His style remains teasingly sensual, the girls continue to be young and stunning, but the name of his site has changed from Hegre Archives to Hegre-Art, although it maintains the exceptional quality and magazine-style format.
There's an incredible amount of content and new stuff is added daily. With 177 models and each doing either a series of photos or even films, it's unlikely that you'll ever run out of material. Photos have been added daily since 2002 and it's impossible to count just how many there are, but it's safe to estimate that there's at least 1,460 sets (68,104 pictures) which can be downloaded as .zip files in a choice of small, medium, large or extra large quality images. There are also 165 intimate sensual films available as 1230Kbps or higher films in multiple formats including Windows, Apple, DivX, QT and now they're even offered for iPod. There's barely a need for extra content, but the site does have a forum where members can discuss photography or post their own images. Hegre-Art continues to deliver exclusive, personal and evocative softcore excellence. End of Update.
Original Review Follows: Hegre-Archives.Com is a site presenting the work of one very famous photographer, Peter Hegre. In case you haven't heard of this guy in the past, let me tell you he won the Photographer of the year 2001 Award at the Erotic Oscars in London and looking at his work I can only confirm he deserved it. Now, prior to moving on with the review let me tell you one thing - the stuff at Hegre Archives is NOT porn, this is erotic photography at it's best. Now when we have this sorted out, let me continue :-)
The design of this site reminds me of the times when I used to buy an adult magazine from time to time - it's not exactly magazine style, but certain elements make it look like that. Anyways, the site is very easy to navigate, although some of you might feel lost in there at the beginning, simply because there are quite a few options to choose from. Once you get used to the system thou, it's a pleasant experience until the end.
I began my journey through Hegre Archives by using the update history menu. Clicking through a lot of sub-pages, I was offered almost 140 hot models to choose from. Each model had at least one picture gallery, while some had a lot of them. In total, there are close to 50 000 exclusive images, offered in multiple sizes (some up to 3000*2000 pixels !!!). The quality of these pics was simply superb, no wonder Peter Hegre is a recognized name in the photography business. Every picture gallery is available for download in a .zip file - that's always a nice feture.
Like majority of you, I love to watch hot babes on video, especially when they're so hot as the babes at Hegre Archives. And Peter doesn't disappoint, at the date of my visit, there have been 99 videos available either for streaming or downloading. Offered in multiple formats (WMV, DivX, Mac) these videos are quite long, some almost 100MB in size, taking quite a long time to download. However, it's worth the waiting, the quality of the videos is very good, easily watch-able in full screen mode.
I have to write a few lines about the models, so you know what to expect. Like I mentioned at the beginning, Peter Hegre specializes in erotic photography, not porn, which makes it easier for him to get in touch with above average looking models. You know it's much harder to find a very hot babe willing to shoot hardcore, than tasty erotic art. So expect no less than the best looking amateur models, coming mostly from Eastern Europe. Many of these babes are true angles - I told it so many times before, but have to repeat myself again - these European babes look simply awesome :-)
Hegre Archives contains a lot of other content besides pics and videos, you can get a nice wallpaper for your desktop, send an erotic e-card to someone, post your own pics in the forum or apply as Mr.Right (they pick some males to introduce to some of their models). There is also some stuff for sale - prints, or photography books.
You shouldn't miss the newest section at Hegre's - the travel reports. Peter travels a lot, actually he is constantly searching for the ultimate model, and this section contains articles (reports) describing his adventures. So if you ever wondered what the life of an erotic photographer looks like, this is the place to find out. There quite a lot of reading available, complete with plenty of pictures to check out.
Final Verdict:
Hegre Archives is an awesome site, probably the best softcore erotic site I have reviewed so far. Peter is an excellent photographer - the pics and videos are really excellent both in terms of quality and execution. The models don't need commentary, you can easily fall in love with many of them. Every fan of tasty erotic photography should join this site for at least a month.
